On the occasion of the 49th anniversary of the birth of the swordplay novel Loc Dinh Ky (October 24, 1969 – October 24, 2016), we invite you to share with author Kim Dung himself about the work.
Loc Dinh ky started publishing in Minh Bao from October 24, 1969, until September 23, 1972, then it ended, a total of continuously published for two years and eleven months.
But Loc Dinh Ky is not much like a martial arts novel, nor can it be said to be a historical novel.
Loc Dinh Ky is different from my previous martial arts novels, that’s intentional.
There are readers who are dissatisfied with Loc Dinh Ky because the dignity of the main character Vi Tieu Bao is too contrary to common value concepts.
But the main character in a novel is not necessarily a `good person`.
Ha Mau Lai Dac is decisive, La Dinh can’t do what he says, the pastor in `Hong Tu` cheats with people, An Na Tap Liet Ni Na betrays her husband, the author is just describing characters like
If a character in a novel is completely complete, it cannot be realistic.
I wrote martial arts novels with a total of twelve long stories and three short stories.
The book The Sword of Grace and the Luc Luc was written as early as 1955, and the book Viet Nu Kiem was last written in January 1970.
When meeting readers for the first time, the question I often get asked is `Which of your novels do you like best?`.
