20 excellent New Zealand – Vietnam students participating in the first fashion connection project between New Zealand – Vietnam will launch their designs at the fashion show in Ho Chi Minh City on June 6.

40 designs with the theme `Giao Thoa` will be evaluated and scored at the fashion night by a jury including New Zealand Ambassador, Mr. Haike Manning, New Zealand designer Ms. Tamsin Cooper, Ms. Jennifer Pham

“2015 is a very important year for both New Zealand and Vietnam because we are celebrating 40 years of diplomatic relations.

Ambassador Haike Manning said.

The fashion connection project started in May 2015, after 10 student teams (each team will have 1 Vietnamese student and 1 New Zealand student) were selected from 6 universities and fashion academies.

The results of the competition belong to

– First Prize: Team Nicola Luey & Chu Khanh Vy (NZ$2,000)

– Second Prize: Team Brendon Lee & Vo Kim Ngoc (NZ$1,000)

– Third Prize: Team Chung Hung Khai & Tia Feng
