In 1789, under the reign of King Le Chieu Thong, Minh Huong Commune was officially established, and the village houses of the Minh Huong people were born in the Cho Lon area.
The current architecture of Dinh Minh Huong Gia Thanh was rebuilt in 1901, in the 13th year of Thanh Thai, with traces still clearly visible in the roof top where the `statue` system of the Dong Hoa Apricot Tree kiln is.
The communal house has a Tam-shaped structure, but is different from other Tam-shaped structures of Cho Lon, which usually include a front hall – middle palace and rear palace.
The unique point in Minh Huong communal house is the set of tureens and horizontal boards with diverse meanings and values, such as `Thien Tuc Kha Phong` (good customs worthy of praise) given to the village by King Tu Duc in the year
Architectural details and decoration of Minh Huong Gia Thanh Communal House have harmonious features, with iron gates with a fine art style heavily influenced by Western Europe, connecting very openly with the bold Asian interior space of the communal house.
The main hall is used for worship with the main temple worshiping Thanh Hoang Bon Canh.
